    errrrrrrr..... surely the olympics?
Well, the Olympiad is actually the four year period of time around which the events arise - essentially a calendar dating system - hence the proper name of the London Olympics will be the 'Games of the XXX Olympiad' (that's 30, incidentally, not some sort of porn olympics...; interestingly enough, if it wasn't the 'modern games', but rather dated from the first Olympiad, 2012 would be the 697th) So yes, he is technically wrong.

Due to the finicial crisis, less and less Sponsors will sign the cooperation agreements with London goverment.
Er, they've already got their sponsors...

    Why?

We're as good as fireworks as China, anyway. Just get some of the teams responsible for new year's and big events in London to do some neat explosions over the Thames and, afaik, we'll be sorted.

London has a greater ability to host the Olympics than China. China didn't cooperate with their human rights agreement for the Olympics, the human rights actually worsened because of the Olympics...
Why are you saying 'change we need' all the time? You aren't Barack Obama...

Sponsorship will not be massively effected by the financial crisis.

This is Britain - we're not that bothered about "funds loopholes".

Being an Olympic City can never be a failure. It is a success and an honour. It is an indication of the cultural wealth you have to share with the world and we should all be proud of that.

    Roll on 2012.
I didn't see that any new policies lead by british gov to contribute the world's economy, whilst this country has hold the olympic games before.
Namely this country learned nothing from the olympic games.
    What a pity.

I do not think it will be a failure, and anyway, the worst of the crisis should be over by then.

It doesn't have to compare to Beijing at all. I don't get this. China can feel like a world superpower if they want, Britain doesn't need to jump on the bandwagon. Hopefully the BOA won't lie about the ages of featured personalities, be they entertainers or athletes.
The organising ability is another big concern.

not the sponsors, but the construction of the infrastructure.
it will be a mess, i bet, just like the 8 minutes performance in the closing ceremony of the Beijing olympic games.
I wonder why the international olympic commite will alow a bus appeared in the stadium, in my city, there are too many sight-seeing buses, it never occured to me what would be, if Shanghai host the Olympic Games later, bus is the british culture?
But we respect the so called british culture regardless whether it's a mess or not...

I highly doubt the London games will be a failure, instead I imagine them being a great success.
ohh, don't kidding me, they can finish all construction a year before the olympic games, namely 2007? hopefully they can do a good job,

Sure China put a lot of emphasis on the Olympics, but money can't buy the olympic spirit, although China did try to buy that too
You may search on the internet, how much money China has spent.
One motto is to host the Olympic Games with the lowest prices.
    And we achieved it.

what do you know about human right? the united states is the last country to say that.see what happens in Iraq etc.and being one country without opposition party does not mean we got a worse human right protection. our citizens have better living standard.well, you may also say we don't see the underlying problems, but this is also the prejudice you guys always bear in mind. can u just talk something new,not just multiparty, human right, dalai lama(who is totally a political fraud at all)im not seeing that america's getting more powerful over past few years.dont think big of yourself!

Does UK have the ability to host the Olympiad(OLYMPIC GAMES)?
Due to the finicial crisis, less and less Sponsors will sign the cooperation agreements with London goverment. That indicates a big funds loophole for London. UK is now in danger.
Everybody feels uneasy and anxious to the next Olympiad hosted by London.
CHANGE, WE NEED is to alternate hosting right to another country.
    How about Shanghai 2012 ?

Seriously though, whats with you that you are always against the UK ?
