if it came from abroad it could get opened by customs

otherwisem if it is safe, then you only have to worry about someone in your own house opening it

There's certainly no guarantee; stuff gets sent to the wrong address, packaging gets damaged, search warrants net your parcel inadvertently... but they're all pretty unlikely.

Unless it's being shipped from overseas or it's likely to be tied to criminal activities I wouldn't be concerned.

honestly, i'd pretty much have to leave home if this got found out.
if i buy from ebay, from a uk seller, will i be safe?
There is no absolute guarantee of safety when you use mail. There couldn't be, considering that there has to be a 3rd party middle-man who is as human as the rest of us. If you're so worried then you'd probably be best just not bothering.

There's a tiny chance something might happen, of course, but if you are the one at home when it's delivered then it should be fine.
