Will getting into Medicine get easier?

With the current crisis in the NHS and the mass shortage of Doctors, do you think that it will be easier to become a Doctor in the next few years.
I'm not discussing entry requirement reductions, I'm talking about more places and opportunities for people who would meet the A-Level requirements and Ucat requirements but still get rejected. Due to the popularity of the course!
Aren't they making an apprenticeship type route into medicine now?

They are yes, but won't this increase the popularity yet again as so many people will be applying for these places?
The thing is for that to happen, the government would actually need to increase the number of places significantly - which seems unlikely (they have actually increased the number of medical school places and opened several new medical schools over the years, and it's still very competitive - possibly even more so than it used to be).

On top of that they also need to increase the number of actual posts for people after they finish medical school. It's all well and good expanding the number of medicine places, but if there are enough foundation posts for them at the end, it's pointless - you just have medical grads with no job then.
