Some unis are already listing their A level requirements for Clearing 2022, other will wait until Thursday 18th to review their requirements. I will add popular unis as I become aware of their stated grades so any information that can be added would be useful for me to update the list. Students who qualify for contextual offers will often be welcomed with slightly lower grades (see individual uni websites) and unis may lower their general entry requirements from A level results day.

Cardiff AAA-AAB
City uni ABB
East Anglia AAB-ABB with A in EPQ
Exeter - Clearing vacancies will be added from 18th August
Kent AAA-ABB
Lancaster AAB
Leicester AAB - ABB with B in EPQ
Liverpool AAA
Newcastle - LLB available in International Clearing only at AAA but Home students can apply for combined Law degrees with AAB
Nottingham Trent ABB
Oxford Brookes BCC
Reading AAB
Royal Holloway AAB-ABB
Sheffield - in Clearing for Law
Surrey BBC
Sussex AAB-ABB
Swansea around BBB may be flexibility
Queen Mary AAA (Business with Law. LLB A*AA for overseas only)

Hiya, my friend is taking Law at Cardiff University where she requires AAB to get in.
She's concerned that she won't get the grades, so I was wondering how lenient universities are with the grades students get and whether they would still accept them?

It’s possible that Cardiff would still accept your friend if she narrowly misses the grades. They aren’t the strictest when it comes to grades but it all depends on whether they have spaces or not after they have allocated places to all the people who do achieve their offers. It’s a nerve racking time but all she can really do is wait for results day and see if she gets placed at Cardiff or her Insurance choice, if she had one.

Her insurance offer is Royal Holloway which she requires ABB for, so anything could happen really!

Royal Holloway is a sensible insurance, best of luck to her on the day

Yeah so basically what you're saying is that it all depends on how others do on the day?

What would you think of her chances of getting into Cardiff if she were to get a BBB? Leaning more onto the side of not getting in unfortunately?

Yes it al depends on how others do on the day.

I think BBB is a bit low for Cardiff tbh but you never know. I would be more hopeful about Royal Holloway

Many Unis aren’t displaying their Clearing vacancies until Thursday so it is possible that some of the above may advertise Law vacancies at that point, but they aren’t advertising them yet. However, it’s unlikely that Unis like Bristol & Warwick would have vacancies for Law I’m afraid.
Hey! How lenient do you reckon Lancaster is when it comes to not meeting the grades required?

hey, does anyone know how lenient uni of southampton is with not meeting grades?
(edited 2 years ago)
why would that be, especially where grades are set to be lower than 2019

Lancaster have accepted ABB in the past so it’s possible they would go to that but no one knows until Thursday.

Southampton have been lenient in the past so it’s possible but again, no one knows for sure what will happen this year. They aren’t even advertising vacancies yet but may do on Thursday
