Do any of you ever experience this with others?
Do you ever get or have you ever had people who you know be ok with you but then you notice certain things which indicate they have something against you or might be talking about you.
For example with certain people I notice they will look at each other and smirk. It is not just me that notices this. My friend at uni noticed that 2 girls looked at each other and smirked whenever I spoke in a university lecture

There are plenty of jerks and immature gossipers in the habit of trying to start drama or malicious campaigns against other students.
Same often applies with coworkers, neighbours, professional rivals and random people.
