For the first one, its probably easier to write the divison as something like
numerator * (1/denominator) = numerator * (denominator)^(-1)
then use the product differentiation rule. Though you could use the quotient rule or divide each term on the numerator by the denominator then differentiate and rearrange.

For the second, you should just differentiate y and show that its satsifes the equation.
