So for the past 2 months or so I've been taking my passport as proof of ID to clubs (I'm at university) but last night I managed to lose it either in a club or on a bus.. I think a passport is £70 to replace? Is a Provisional Driving Licence any cheaper, and how long would it take to process? I wish our student cards had our date of birth on..

edit: oh LOL it says you have to have a valid UK passport to get one?? Not when it's on the sticky floor of a club..

    A provisional costs £50: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring...nce/DG_4022089

I also think you can take alternative forms of ID to get a provisional e.g. birth certificate and something else....but I'm not 100% sure.

Yep, you can use your birth cert. and some other form of ID: usually something with your name and National Insurance number on (i.e. your Nat. Ins. Card! )
