Anyone elses unis offering MMR vaccines and boosters in light of the growing rates of the diseases? My department is off to get them next week. I'm not keen on jabs but its free so partner is making me go

Yup - Barts is as several peeps have had mumps over the last few months. Oxford 'forced' all venerable students to have the jab, College by College last term.

We had clinics last term as well, all got done. Immunity will be lifelong, but if you only had one rather than two injections when you were younger, you may not be fully immune hence why you need another one.

yeh i think anyone born in the 90s has had two - which basically means most people over the age of about 15 will need another shot. I certainly went and had one before christmas - I don't want to go all hamster cheeks for a week (let alone some of the...other effects)
that said its a much nastier needle than they used for the MR (measles rubella) jab we all had in 1995.

I didn't dream that then

I was very confused when suddenly the measles(MR) jab wasn't effective anymore after they'd forced most 15/16 yr olds in the country to have it a few yrs earlier....

Our uni offered lots of MMR clinics in December after there were a few cases of mumps diagnosed... we all went and had it done just before Christmas.

Well, my occy health test from last year said I was immune, but thought it couldn't hurt to get another dose.
