    Hello,
I've finished my personal statement and hope to send off my application tomorrow. I showed my PS to my tutor and she said it was very good however she had some issues which I'm not sure about:

Delete the spaces between paragraphs so I can write a bit more in my final paragraph.

    Capitalize maths/mathematics whenever it appears.

Always use mathematics (as in, never just write maths).

I know there have been threads on similar things to this but I just wanted to check again because she seemed pretty sure that these were the correct things to do and she knows more about this sort of thing than me.
From looking at past threads though, the general consensus seems to be that I should not capitalize maths or delete the spaces.
    Who's right?

    Thanks.

Using the full name just looks a little better, and putting spaces between paragraphs eats up your line limit. I don't see why mathematics should be capitalised though..

Use maths if you want to squeeze in a couple of extra letters.

Yeah, I know it takes up a lot of space but it just looks so horrible when you have one massive block of text.

I don't have gaps between my paragraphs, as I wanted to have as much information in there as possible. Universities don't mind; I got all my interviews last year etc. And I'd use mathematics but I don't see why it should be capitalised.
