Application is under review

The thing is I know I missed the grades Cardiff wanted. I was instead stuck in a limbo waiting for 12 hours for them to make a decision. I've called them 5 times today and basically on the 5th go they were like, uh yeah we can't verify the grades you sent us soz.

Which makes no sense. York rejected me immediately. How Cardiff did not get confirmation that I didn't get the grades they want is baffling. I sent them off to the admissions team after the first phone call.

So all my accommodation at my insurance are full ffs . And I’m still waiting on Salford , I can’t even make a move until they make a decision and my parents hate the act of renting privately . I’m wondering if there is any clearing spaces even left in 48 hours for what I want to do , I do think they should just reject because I did miss their grades

Hey both, I am so sorry that there has been a lack of progress in this area, as mentioned before, this is entirely wrong for Cardiff (morally, though not necessarily on a policy front). The comms issues have been raised to UCAS by TSR. For now, I would highly recommend calling unis in clearing now, explaining the situation, and getting some verbal offers which will hold until you get your outcome from Cardiff. There is no obligation for you to join the uni until you get your place confirmed on UCAS hub!

So On my end there has been no answer from Salford university , I know I have significantly missed my offer , my uni guidance counsellor said they are probably putting my application in a ‘waiting list ‘ to see if other better candidates can fill the space , which is such a bummer I do like my firm , but this treatment is beyond rude they had all this time to talk about my application and make up their minds they said I need to wait 48 hours I find this nonsensical.

I'm really sorry that there's a bit of a wait - we completely understand that it's a stressful time, and that you'll want to know what's happening as soon as possible.

If you've missed your offer, the reason it's takes a little bit longer is that we'll be doing everything we can to see if we can accept you (as an example, we'll be checking with tutors and will sometimes check whether there is an alternative course we can get you onto, or a foundation year).
