Is it worth doing an msci in computer science?

So i've recently graduated with a geology degree, I liked geology but it's not want I want to do for a career going forward and I was planning on doing a masters in planetary sciences, however now i'm in the working world i'm not sure I want to do that either. I always thought research science was my thing but while I was at uni I discovered a love of coding, I worked on self-teaching some for video game mods in java as well as taking a comp sci module within my degree where we learnt python, right now i'm working for a large tech company but i'm not really involved with the programers and i'd really like to pursue that at either this company or another.

On the one hand I know if I want to do programing I will need the masters, on the other is there any point of doing it in the first place if I am not going to be able to compete* with people who did comp sci undergrads (potentially with masters as well) in the job market?*
(Sorry for any spelling errors just did this quickly on my phone)
