Biology a level remark

For my Biology a level I got an A but I’m 4 marks off off an A*. I sent all 3 of my bio papers for remarks and I don’t need an A* but it would significantly improve my application. How likely is it that I will get an A* and has anyone gained 4+ marks from remarks/ reviews in a science a level? Also is it common for examiners to make mistakes when marking papers e.g missing out questions or misreading answers etc.

I’m in the same situation but missing off an A* in my Chemistry A-level by 5 marks. I’m just putting a comment here to see if people think it’s worth remarking too.

even though bio has such a strict mark scheme I say its worth the try as you could possibly gain the marks from the longer 6 or 9 markers (if you did edexcel) good luck!!!

Heya!
Congrats on your amazing grade (A is still a very good grade!). Personally, I wouldn't ask to get it remarked if I got an A and was off of A* by a bit unless you really need it for a university  My friends had their papers remarked and from what I heard, everyone gained at least some marks. One person even gained around 15 marks (for business) one time and went from a C to an A.

You have to remember that examiners go through tons of papers in a limited time so it's not unheard of them making some mistakes

I hope this helps and good luck I hope you get those extra marks!

I've seen the results of hundreds of reviews of marking and about 80% don't change the marks at all. Some go down and gaining more then 3-4 marks in a Science subject, while not impossible, is incredibly rare. Reviews of marking are expensive and people should go into them with realistic expectations.

Is it worth putting in remark when I’m one mark off in chemistry?😭

Have you seen results drop significantly in remarks ? So a paper out of 60 drop 20 marks ?
