Guess how much he'd charge for a 40 minute set for charity in a students union?

    Spoiler:
    Show
    £44,000

I wonder how much it would be if it wasn't a charity :eek3:

Is that his fee on top of a charity donation, or would all of that be donated to charity?

I bet he doesn't for Bristol. He's alumni and frequently goes back there.

We asked if he'd preform for our amnesty international event and he said he'd charge that

You'd have a bloody good job getting Darren Brown to turn up - he's been dead for two years! No wonder he charges so much; I suspect he wants a soul thrown in on top too...?

I'm not that surprised really. A guy like him could pack out a full sized, professional theatre and make twice that amount for a set.

Terry Wogan got paid, for 20 odd years, for presenting Children in Need. It's hardly a scathing revelation about Derren Brown.

However, this was reduced (on his request) to the minimum required and I believe went straight back to the CiN pot. He didn't ask for money - nor took it.

Besides, all charity events which want stars to attend have to shell out to get the stars to attend, this is just normal business practice. The idea is that the star will draw in far more money than they charged to attend, etc.

Of course, we were prepared to pay, but £44,000 for a student charity event is a bit excessive...

And i'm pretty sure the guys on the secret policemans ball aren't paid
