Well done to everyone who has an offer already!! You must have smashed the interview

For anyone wondering, I had my interview earlier in the week and they said that they were sending offers out on a rolling basis from this week onwards based on interview scores. They’re ranking and reranking everyone as more people do interviews and will keep giving more out. Good luck

Everyone on student room who has received offers so far are home students right, not RUK. Does anyone know if they do home students first and then RUK or is it just purely interview score no matter where you are from ?

It’s the Scottish system of grades. AH stands for advanced highers and that is the conditions that person has to meet this year. The AAAAB is for the highers that they sat last year and those are they grades they achieved. They are a Scottish student

Thanks for explaining. So the offer holder As level grading is AAAAB and Advanced higher conditional offer which is Equivalent to English A level is BBB.
So Scottish students can drop 5 subjects to 3 ?

Thanks for explaining. So the offer holder is Gap year student as they achieved AAAAB?

I don’t think so. They do highers in y12 equivalent I believe (sort of like our GCSEs but a year later) and AH in y13. But the exams are harder than our equivalents so people can go to uni just on highers (probably not for a competitive course like medicine tho)

No. I know in England you have gsces then a year of nothing then a levels but in Scotland we do 3 consecutive years of exams. (Nat 5s, then highers, then advanced highers) so they are in their last year of high school currently and are gonna sit their advanced highers this spring/summer. Hope this helps

Yep… last year of high school and doing advanced highers. Which i’ve got to get 3 B’s in.

Oh great. So the GCSE in Scotland called Nat 5s
I like that system with exam at highers and another exam called advanced higher.
So we dont have to go back and revise for AS level as the exams are already over.

if im honest i think the chances for anyone left is low, but if you take into account strike days and the fact that some interviews were delayed due to finals, interviews may be going out for longer than last year!
