My son just got rejected from queens also. Don't know why, but will definitely try and find out. 3010 ukcat band 3. 2A* and A achieved at Alevel

that’s bizarre. Did he apply last year? ( it’s necessary to have if reapplying, isn’t it?) That’s an excellent UCAT score. Which A level subjects?

Just got rejected with 41/42. Scottish student with AAAAA at Higher already achieved and predicted AAA at Advanced Higher. Have asked for feedback as I'm totally gobsmacked.

incomprehensible

OMG, I'M ALSO SCOTTISH STUDENT but with only 40 points, What is HAPPENING???!!!!!

don’t understand - do hope it’s just some admin. mistake?
You all sound like top applicants who could have expected to interview, at the very least.

I really don't get it. Queens own entry requirements say 5x Higher's at A is 36 points (I have 6), and a UCAT score above 2700 (I'm 2900) is another 6 points. I meet all the eligibility criteria, have the requisite clinical and supra-curricular experience, and still did not get an invite to interview..!! To say I'm confused by receiving a straight rejection ("Course Full/No Places") is a bit of an understatement - I actually don't know what more I could have done.

one good thing about QUB is you can ring medical school admissions ( don’t have number but ask at general admissions if unable to obtain direct number) and speak to an actual human being.
- it’s Norn Iron, so they tend to be warm, direct and willing to help x

I didn't get a rejection but I'm surprised someone with 41 points got rejected

OMG, 41 points. I only have 40. Have not been rejected yet, What Is going on???? I was hoping it was a safe option as the cut off was predicted to be 37. Please let us know when you get feedback. So sorry guys, hope it is a mistake.

Hopefully everyone who received a rejection was rejected by mistake and it gets sorted but just in case this is of any help with scoring. Not sure if they changed scoring from last year as I didn’t apply but 8s are not equivalent to 9s and 2700-2899 is 5 points not 6.

Sorry to hear this, it seems wrong. Last year there was an issue with someone who did not have Nat 5 Physics - do you have that?

What was wrong with not having Nat 5 Physics, I didn’t do it but there was nothing about it on the website.

It is buried on p20 of the "How we choose our students" document:

If not taken as an Advanced Higher then Higher
Biology/Human Biology Higher grade B is required. In
addition, Standard Grade, Intermediate 2 or National 5
English, Physics and Mathematics.

Hi everyone, I’m a ROI student that should’ve had either 37/41 points (I just say 37 as one of my junior cert(gcse) subjects is marked differently) and also received a rejection yesterday! So maybe the boundary has gone up🥲

Reply 93

I have 40 points, and definitely meet the requirements so hopefully, I am okay. Sorry about this guys, just hope it is a mistake.

Has anybody got an email with feedback back yet about why they were rejected. So confused and anxiously checking my inbox over and over

Could it be that your predicted A Level grades are not A* A A?

Unfortunately, if you don't have Physics at at least Nat 5, you do not meet their minimum requirements, as detailed above

Yes he applied last year as well and the year before, which is now the reason we believe why he has been rejected. So this was his third attempt at queens. He was told over the phone that he was ok to apply, but we now think that info was wrong. He has A* chemistry and biology and A in Information Technology. He has 3 other unis to hear from so hopefully he will get interviews there, if not he will be looking at studying in Europe
