Will admissions let us know how the waiting list works and how many offers are roughly given out? It’s really nerve-racking not knowing what will happen

In the UCAS, it says email to follow. I think they will email to wait list opt in students tomorrow. Please try to focus on the exams even though it is hard in this position and time. My child is in same position and I just said the same. I am sure they will send the email. Hopefully tomorrow.

Nope are we meant to?

Interviewed in December, received a rejection + waitlist now.

I reckon they are putting everyone who has had an interview on the waitlist. Theres not many if you minus the offers already sent. It will probably work by going down the highest interview score.

I don't think so - it's probably everyone X amount below the threshold who they assume won't make it anyway. No point giving out false hope is there.

Edit: On hindsight, I think you're correct.

Do you think they’ll manage to give offers from waiting list? Looking at last year’s thread, I don’t know if a lot got offers

realistically speaking - I think a maxiumum of 10 people will be accepted via the reserve list.

There was a freedom of information act a few years ago and in 2018 28 people were on the waiting list and they gave out offers to 20 people

I did a brief total of people who said they were put on the waitlist from the student room + other groups and chats. So far it is 64......

That seems about right but let's not forget nowadays it's a different scope with so many deferred/reapplicants from 2020 onwards from inflated grades, Keele's had almost 2500 med applicants this year which is more than previous years. Although at the end of the day, no one here knows how this part of the process works so remember to take everything with a pinch of salt, we're all speculating after all.

I think you can put any of those and can edit it later when things are clear. As far as I know, you don’t need an offer to start the finance application. If you want to make sure, I suggest to ask under a post on the official student finance Facebook. They are very quick to reply there. They don’t have an email address. Not great to have to ask under a public post but seems that it’s how the student finance deal with queries. Hope it helps.

Believe in yourself! The best you can do now is put the work in and pray, give it your best shot and worry about the specifics in the summer when you'll have all the time in the world

Agree .. believe in yourself I was in the exact position last year no offers , didn’t even want to resit the UCAT. I worked hard and got my a levels and EPQ… took the gap year, got a job in a GP practice and part time in a breakfast cafe.. managed to save some money. Got an offer now no need to worry about grades. Going abroad for a holiday with family and feeling very relaxed. Sincerely wishing you all , all the very best in your a levels. You all can get those grades.
