GCSE result's day near - LAE (stratford) or NCS ot Brampton

Hi I am still deciding whether to choose LAE or NCS or Brampton if I do happen to get some good grades. Please can you help me.1. Which one has the least pressure? I've heard that Brampton's atmosphere is pretty intense. But don't know. 2. For each of them, when a typical day starts and ends?3. And how often are the tests in each of them?Thank you so much for helping. Really appreciate 😊

You will do fine in all of them if you can get in however I would recommend LAE as it is the least pressured (still very pressured as is A Levels in general) and also has the most extra curricular stuff as well. Being situated next to Westfield is also a big bonus. NCS is also good for medicine application as they do a lot of extra curriculars in that sense, and Brampton is also a good school.

Would honestly say to pick Brampton. The other 2 are brilliant sixth forms but I do personally think Brampton just beats them overall. However I do think that if you're interested in ivy leagues then NCS have a system over there

Hey! Im a student at ncs so i hope i can convince you ( :
I have several friends attending LAE and they say theres a sort of hierachy there with grades which leans into borderline bullying behaviour from the top attainers, in addition they claim the work is overbearing and tedious, just as expected from a rigouros school, however deadlines for those works are apparantly unreasonable. But I will praise LAE's extra curricular it certainly looks good, however despite having a mental health network, they seem to be putting down and damaging students mental health.

I've finished my first year of sixth form at ncs and I can honestly say it's 10 times better than lae. I have several friends who went/are at lae and many tell me that the work is tedious and that the pressure on them is impossible to deal with but ncs isn't at all the same. I feel way more supported and even though I know they expect me to get good results, the pressure doesn't feel as noticeable. And , after all, ncs and lae both receive top level grades so I prefer being less stressed with the same outcome.

NCS has its bad sides too, the teachers are strict however they are understanding with work deadlines, and I will say the school is quite biased to some careers, the most notable being law engineering medicine nursing etc. so you will see more activities and oppurtunities for those careers more than others, however they will personally help you to reach out and get experience even in niche careers such as the one i want to do! I wanted to do conservation science such as entomology, and they were able to pair me up with some workshops (which look really good on my ucas). There are better support systems in NCS than LAE, LAE's mental health network is run by a small selective student body while NCS offers things such as mentoring and 'btech' group therapy. In addition NCS has better partnerships with universities so recieve more workshops at universities such as oxford.
I personally adore NCS, I've made so many friends and the teachers are so helpful and understanding, last year i was admitted to the hospital and fell behind by a whole week, but the teachers supported me even if it took a little while! I was encouraged and I also encourage you to go!

(copy and paste from a previous reply of mine as i think it clearly outlines good points to go to ncs)

Hi! Thx for responding! I have already enrolled at NCS. But reading through their booklet for students and parents, it gave me the feeling that atmosphere at NCS is going to be very tedious, and overwhelming. Thank you for helping though, maybe we can meet someday there

NCS have opened two new 6th forms, I know the one in Islington is a VERY small 6th form so they can provide more pastoral support to students so it feels more supportive and more of a community.

Haha yeah the booklet does seem quite overbearing and strict doesn’t it, I’m sure it’s just that they’re serious about enforcing the rules there, speaking to many current and ex-NCS students they’ve all spoke positively about their time there.

Are you definitely going there? Would like to know some people before I go too.

Pretty scared actually. I am more concerned about time. I need to balance gym, self-study and other things. If NCS really turns out to be that rigorous and time consuming, it will really take away my 2 years. Hope I still find some time to invest in myself while I'm there. What about you?

I think you’ll be fine tbh, as long as you’re good at time management and an efficient study you should find time to invest in yourself too, I also need to balance gym and a daily 2-3 hour course which I need to attend after sixth form lessons, so I’ll probably have to study late into the night. Don’t think you have much to worry about.

I’m impartial about it, the whole meeting new people and making new friends is a bit daunting but then again I’ve always wanted to be in a competitive environment being taught properly, didn’t have the best secondary education.

Hi! I chose that KPMG tech as well along with tech consultancy with Accenture. For Oxbridge, I chose biotechnology and engineering.
Yes, we may really meet. We might be in the same lessons as well. Remember my name there!

Damn, that’s great, I’m sure I’ll remember if I hear your name anywhere, remember mine too, if we do share a class together, I don’t think there’ll be multiple people with our names 😂
