What would you advise me to do? I can't make up my mind but I really do want a break.

You said spring start so I assume you’re starting GT in a few months right? No harm in taking a break

Yup they finally rejected me after 4 months of waiting lol. Got another apprenticeship so it's all cool though

wait so is there no more spaces for audit london?!

This would be crazy if so, literally have my group assessment tomorrow. Gonna be a bit demotivating if at the end of it all if I was to pass (insha'Allah) that I'm just on a waitlist lol ://
Hey guys I’m currently doing the school leaver programme at a top 6 firm who are currently hiring, if you are interested in applying send me a pm and I can help you through the application process.
They filled their roles this fast because they never hire. No point going to a firm that has a terribly low client base

They emailed me saying they filled all the places
M8 you defo deserve better. GT is a shxt hole

Are you 100% sure you don’t want a rethink over gt? No offence but no point going to Big 8 unless being rejected by all Big 4. Huge gap between BDO and Big 4, needless to mention that of gt

I've already got my grade and signed the contract. I just want to take a break from work prior to starting, as I applied for the spring intake. Do you reckon it's alright if I leave my current job now and it's safe to do so or should I wait more?

Why bro? What's up
I know this info because I used to stupidly work there, and I ended up working at PwC now. Is that convincing to you?

Where are you even getting this information from? From your username you’re clearly salty because GT doesn’t want you. Don’t put other people off from the firm because you weren’t good enough during the application process.
So how much do you know abt GT then? You work there?

If you want GT, go to GT. Don’t lose interest over a faceless person talking rubbish on a TSR thread 😟
So basically I worked there for 9 months and it’s been my nightmare. Poor management, strong hierarchy amongst collegaues, and most importantly, crappy client profiles. You spent hours and hours on pointless working papers, being unreasonably pressured by seniors, and end up learning nothing.

There’s another guy countering me. Use your own judgement to decide which is the best place for you. Wish you every success m8.

Every company has its flaws…the big 4 isn’t going to be any better but whatever suits you best go for it.
So this is the last time I replied to you. I worked there and my experience is genuine. What I doing is sharing my experience, that’s it. There’s no kids at TSR, no one will easily change their career aspirations because of just a few negative comments. Be straight with the fact, the Big 8 isn’t the Big 4, and they will never be, that’s it

Honestly just be yourself, someone from Grant Thornton will call you before each stage to coach you and answer all of your questions. You have nothing to worry about. It really was a straightforward process ☺️
