Want to drop out of Healthcare

I am going into year 2 of Diagnostic Radiography. Honestly I'm beginning to not enjoy my course. I love uni life and have made great friends but I'm slowly starting to realise a healthcare job may not be for me. I disliked hospital life throughout my first year placement; How
some staff treated students, How some patients spoke to me, How I've seen upsetting things that I still catch myself uncontrollably thinking about. I found myself beginning to feel impatient with patients as placement ended and I know healthcare workers should not be like that. I think I should go into something non health related but I don't know what. Any tips or advice??
Thank you!

If you're looking for advice on non-healthcare roles then I'd suggest posting literally anywhere on this website but here! lol

Some people say to complete the degree and then go into something else at postgrad level, but this is easier said than done. Year 2 academically is much harder than year 1 as well.

If you're certain then perhaps drop out, and take some time work on what you want. You don't need to go to university at all. Good luck.

Have you spoken to anyone at Uni about how you are feeling? Your placement supervisor or academic tutor?
Consider your actions carefully.
Do you think that you would pass?

Would taking a year off help?

You could write off the year and choose a different course, are there any courses that you could transfer to?

A degree is a degree, even if you never work in the industry.
If you enjoy the science elements of the course, could you study that directly to remove the people elements?

Easy enough to say if you've never completed your university education with a gentleman's degree.
this brings back placement memories 😭 I hated My placement in the NHS so I dropped out of uni in my second year. whole thing was horrible the staff treated students terribly and in the end just didn't seem worth it for me so I left, it wasnt worth the stress and tears. I understand how you feel, I'd say Look at the reasons you're doing it, if you don't see yourself making use of the degree and are just completing it to say you have a degree some might say it's a waste of time, you could reapply for a different course (what I did after taking a break) and start looking at jobs directly because you'll leave uni with a certificate of higher education anyway (most cases), it's a hard decision and I hope you make the right one for you,

what have you decided, I am in the same position as you doing radiography going into my second year. I feel that healthcare is not for me as well. it is so hard to make that decision, isn't it?
I haven't really decided anything yet. Its really difficult. My main worry is that if I drop out I won't get into anything else. What are you thinking of doing?

I know it's soo hard, should I take a year out or drop out, I was thinking of doing economics and management but it's too late now and what if I don't get a job afterwards, what if I hate it? I am also getting older so I am so scared.
