true, but it does seem strange to name your child after the symbol of female wicked seductiveness and after a woman who served john the baptist's head on a platter

it does seem a bit of a strange name to choose, I also knew a Salome who I used to go to ballet class with. There was also a Genevieve Rainbow which is a pretty awesome name, and I saw the name Siouxsie on a form at work yesterday...

I know a married woman called Mrs Isla Mann. Can just picture her signing the register on her wedding day, suddenly realising what a terrible mistake she's made.

Either that person's mum was a big fan of late punk rock/early goth rock - or that person changed their name. I have a mate who legally changed his surname to Dystopia

I can't exactly say I've heard any weird names to be honest. I'm quite accepting of names - though odd combinations 'get' me. Like all those poor people in Patagonia who are called Juan Evans, or Rodrigo Jones. I'm just waiting for a Dai Chavez...that would amuse the hispanophile in me. :yep:

Edittt: Seeing all these teacher ones, I remember we had a music teacher (an unfortunately timid man) named Mr Hier. Nothing wrong with that is there? Well, maybe the fact that his first initial was P. - amongst our year, or at least my immediate friends it was hilarity; "Hi, I'd like to know whether P. Hier is teaching now?" (tragic).

I had a business studies teacher called Miss Furminger (the minger bit is pronounced with a 'j' sound)... even though it was in 6th form, I found it absolutely hilarious

I used to work somewhere where every customer had to write their name down... There were loads of funny names but I can't remember them now.
This girl at my school used to be called Siouxsie. I still dunno how to say it.
I once met a guy called Andrew Peacock lolz. - say it quickly, ahh im immature. And at work I met a girl called Holly Christmas. I thought the name went well together.
And I used to know a guy called Magick.
