English Lit - Heart of Darkness AS Coursework Help Please!!! watch

    • Thread Starter

Basically, we are starting HOD Coursework, AS English Lit AQA, next Thursday, yet we've only just scratched the surface of the book really.
Although I have drawn up a plan which means I will have totally analysed the book by the end of November, this may be too late.

Any pointers, as it's a relatively detailed and hard book, and I've asked the teacher but he seems convinced there is no problem whatsoever and it will be really easy - I think not. In fact, he seems more interested in concerts than the work at hand.

Also, would it be worth getting notes on the book (such as the York Notes brand etc)? Thank you.

It's hard to give you pointers without any knowledge of your coursework title. Until then my advise would be to analyse the novella, paying special attention to ideas of imperial control, western civilisation as conveyed through characters such as the Harlequin, Marlowe's Aunt &c, Marlowe as a narrator, the portrayal of Kurtz pre and post meeting and the portrayal of women.

Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
