Memoirs of a geisha : English lit and Lang coursework help

I’m currently trying to come up with a question for memories of a geisha but I’m really struggling! Does anyone have any ideas at all?

You may wish to take a look at some scholarly articles and see what ideas appeal to you:

Feminist lens:google scholar

•

Marxist lens:google scholar

•

Post-colonial lens:google scholar

You may be able to pull some other critical lens out, but these three are the most commonly used in A-level.

Don't spend too long in scholarly articles, or else you will either: become confused; fall down a rabbit hole; or struggle to come up with original ideas when writing your actual NEA. Or even all of the above.

I know this was posted a year ago, but I'm currently in year 13 and I did "memoirs of a geisha' for my NEA. My investigation was about female relationships and gender identities, which I compared with extracts from Love Island, which was actually really fun!
