Churchill, Corpus Christi, Downing, Girton, Homerton, King's, Selwyn and Trinity don't require the History Admissions Assessment test. But all the other colleges do.

More to the point of your question: St. Catharine's DOES require the History Admissions Assessment test but Girton DOES NOT.

Applicants to all Colleges are required to submit two pieces of written work prior to interview.

Typical History and Politics entrants (A Level)

For 2017, 2018 and 2019 entry, the majority of entrants from an A Level background achieved at least grades A*A*A (61% of entrants). All of these successful applicants took History and 55% took Government & Politics. Other common subjects were English (Language, Literature & Language, or Literature, 44%), a language (23%) and Mathematics (25%).
