Hi, I have a question about the bm6 program at Southampton. In the 3 question form I just received, I am asked to explain why the bm6 program is right for me. Should I also talk about how being a widening participation student this program would open doors for me or should I strictly stick to only talking about the course structure, location etc

Guys I was wondering if the intercalated year for this course is like the one in Nottingham where you don’t have to take out an extra year
Or would I have to spend an extra year for this course if I wanted to intercalate ?

Hello,

4th year Bm5 student at southampton here 👋
If you wish to intercalate you will have to take an extra year and you can do that at Southampton or any other university. Here is a link made by our amazing medsoc explaining intercalating https://sotonmedsoc.org/intercalation
All BM6/BM5 students will do a research project in their 3rd year and will be awarded a BSc in Biomedical sciences on successful completion of 3rd year, that is regardless of whether you decide to intercalate.

Hope this is helpful.Don’t hesitate if you have any other questions

Hello Fatima,

I am unfortunately not familiar with the Bm6 questions and also not allowed to disclose or guide you in how you should answer them.
I can however suggest that you check out the amazing people at the wamsoc who are much more knowledgeable on the topic and can give you more pertinent advice https://instagram.com/wamsocsoton?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

I hope this is helpful

Hey, has anyone submitted their 3 questions and the eligibility form yet? Also after sending them, does anyone know when they would get back to us with a decision?

Their website says ‘We aim to respond to you by the end of March with a decision about your application.’

I started writing today:redface:
Hello, can someone help me with answering the three questions? Not as an actual answer but structure-wise and what to include.

Hi guys, i know this is a weird question you know how we have to circle 'yes or no' on the bm6 form? Since we have to submit the form online, word is not letting me circle words, so I don't know what to do instead.

Maybe you could use 'shapes' or highlight it instead?

No problem!
You can try it, but I have a printer with a scanning function, so I will probably use that. I hope that the app will be okay as well
By the way, have you written your answers for three Qs?
