Hertfordshire - Pharmacy

Heya, i got an interview from Hertfordshire today for Wednesday 24th.
I'm considering not going though. I was hoping they don't do interviews, and it was only a back up to see if i don't get accepted anywhere else, then at least i had one.

But now i've been given offers by Aston (which apparently is amazing for pharmacy!) and Kingston (which is also a backup) without interviews, and had an interview from Manchester yesterday, and should be hearing from them tomorrow.

So i'm just wondering, did anyone actually go see Hertforshire? is it worth having an interview for? Is it that amazing?

Well, funnnily I'm in the same situation. I got an offer from Aston which was my first choice and have an interview at keele; my backup!
But i don't know if i'd prefer hertfordshire to keele as from what i've hear (not seen!!) they have a lot of history, which seems appealing to me!!

My interview's on the 3rd december! the second batch i believe!

I just can't believe that a uni like aston, with such an amazing reputation for pharmacy doesn't want an interview, whereas places like herts and keele want one =S

My dad was wondering the same thing. It doesn't make any sense!! It's really annoying too, Aston would have been easier to get to, as I live a 10 minute bus ride away, yet i'm having to go around the country with the other uni's that are backups!

But can you imagine how intensive an Aston interview would be? I met one of the pharmacy lecturers there on a biology thing for year 10's which i managed to smuggle into and he was already pressurising us and he didn't know i wanted to do pharmacy!! The labs are AMAZING though!!

wt offer did uget from aston
I think personally if you have an offer from manchester and Aston, you should stick to them provided you are happy with them. They have excellent reputations especially Manchester. I am not so sure on Hertfordshire but I think it's a new school of pharmacy and in all frankness it won't even come close to Manchester or Aston.

yeah i just got the offer from Manchester now, i'm thinking i might as well go to the Hertfordshire interview, i've got nothing to lose really, just more interview experience in case i get interviews by Kings.

Okay another thing:

You know the Hertfordshire interview letter, that came with like 6 other sheets. There is a "Fee Assessment Form" - asking about immigration status, and Date you arrived in the UK and what is your purpose for coming etc. etc.
If you arn't an immigrant, do you have to fill this out ? I'm well confused.

And they want copies of your passport and Home Office letter etc. =S

I was supposed to have interview at Hertfordshire on 26th November. Due to other things going on they have managed to change the date to 28th January... :s-smilie:

Is it worth the wait as i don't particularly want to go there either, so would it be possible to cancel my interview from there?

i do maths and chemistry which are counted as my 2 sciences..i dont think ill end up getting a A in chemsitry as im predicted a B so does that mean theyll want a A in Maths cos im hoping to get a A in maths..i havent heard of anyone getting a offer where they want a A in maths so im getting a little worried!

BTW im talkin about aston!

i think they'll base it on your predicted grades, they shouldn't give tell you you need to get an A in chemistry if your teachers think you can get a B .. lol

Omg I havent heard from Aston yet which is the one i reallllllyyy am most concious about!! =S And i sent mines off like 21st October.. hmmm.. =( hopefully I get a reply soon

Yeah I gotta change my hertfordshire because I have notts on the same day. Why would hertfordshire interview though?! The pharmacy course isnt accredited yet by RPSGB, it'll be accredited next year so I didnt think they would interview

I'm predicted an A in biology & a B in chemistry..
but Aston still asked me for the A in chemistry :s-smilie: and B's in other 2 subjects (biology and economics).
Ah well..
