    3-oxopropanoic acid --step1--> 3-hydroxypropionic acid --step2--> 3-chloropropionic acid --step3--> propenoic acid

    I had a few question on the above reaction scheme but i'm stuck on the reagents and conditions for step 1 & 3.

    1st one is Nickel and Hydrogen , think its 100 degrees.

    step 3 - NaOH + heating in ethanolic solvent [elimination]
