Do you prefer Keira Knightley with darker hair, as illustrated here:

    or, the lighter look:

I ask because I have very similar colouring to her, and want to go from dark (my natural colour) to light. I'm just a bit scared about making the change as I have never dyed my hair before as I've always liked my natural colouring, but it's got to the stage now where I'm bored of my hair and want a change, but have had it every conceiveable length and basically think a colour change would be a good way to make it more exciting again.

Also, do people know how realistic it would be for me to get from the darker to the lighter shade without going to a hairdresser? Could I do it in a couple of stages with two successively lighter dyes?

Thanks, any advice/opinions will be much appreciated!

I think the dark hair. It looks more natural, and I love the natural look. Also suits her better

Darker haired girls always look better in my opinion, especially with blue/green eyes (although hers are brown), its just....right.

That second photo is very bright, are you sure it's not just the lighting in the photo making her hair that colour? xD
But I quite like both, tbh!
If you want to go much lighter, like blonde, I suggest going to a hairdressers.. as you've not dyed your hair before you won't really have the predicament of going ginger/yellow when going from dark to light (I don't think!) but you don't want the colour to go badly and it's harder to go lighter than it is to go darker.
If it's only a lighter shade of brown you're going for, I think you might be able to go straight there? My hair is naturally very dark brown/black and I sometimes have it coloured plum/burgundy.. as that grows out it gets lighter by itself :]

She looks gorgeous either way (Lucky ____ :p:) but I'd say dark.
(although saying that I don't think her hair looks very healthy dark anyway)
