I am an Alevel student and I took Math Fmath Physics History and EPQ actually I am more interested in the Anthropology especially the social and medical anthropology
These are some basic information about me Maybe I will reply the meesage later because I am living China it is eight hours earlier than the UK
hey! My school have made us submit the ps next week so I'm trying to finish that now, but I'm also really interested in anthropology especially and how different cultures respond to different events and ideas. I also went on a dig in summer and rly enjoyed the archaeology so will be a good combo! what types of stuff have you read so far, I've read a few books by Jared Diamond (rly good about archaeology and human evolution) and evans-pritchard

I've done the 2 other essays bc I'm gonna use ones I've done for a levels, but I haven't done the material culture one yet...im trying to think of ideas
out of interest, what made u want to study arch and anth bc I've met barely anyone who is applying

yeah i just think i can produce better work than i have already for the material culture i'm considering talking about something art related - both prehistoric and current i started off wanting to study geography as i like the human aspect, then i found anthropology which is essentially the study of humans which was super interesting. i wanted to apply to Oxbridge and found the course arch&anth, and wasn't familiar with archaeology. i went to the open day and also visited the Pitt Rivers Museum and loved the discipline and the displays. did some research into archaeology in particular how it relates to climate change (ties in my interest of geography). also archaeology has similarities to physical geography, and anthropology has similarities to human geography so i really like all the modules of the degree. im applying to arch&anth x3, and geography x2. wbu, what made u wanna study it?

honestly i had a rly similar process of getting to arch and anth, i was originally thinking about doing geog/politics and applying to hsps at cambridge, but realised i am a lot more interested in the social anthropology and cultural part of politics and human geography so anthropology seemed like a better option. like u, i found arch and anth at oxford and so decided that archaeology would be fun as well bc i love history and now I'm applying for arch and anth at all 5 places
i applied to keble bc the people who toured me on the open day were rly lovely and the building and atmosphere is great, but i got the sense that it doesn't rly matter and there's a chance they'll move u around because the course is so small
