Just send it now and hope for the best. Nothing more you can do. I don't think they'll mind that much.

Okay so I had to send off 2 essays to Clare College which need to arrive by Monday 17th

So I was having mad panic I hadn't sent them yet, as my classics teacher only finished marking one of them today, and I bunged them in an envelope and sent them off.

I however have now realised that I actually sent my original essays, and I didn't make any photocopies.

One of them was typed anyway so it's okay, the other was however handwritten....

What on earth am I going to do?!

I am pretty stupid- they'll probs reject me straight off now :/

It won't matter. As long as you know what you wrote in them and can talk about them.

Write down as much as you can about the hand-written one while you can still remember it a bit, so you aren't shocked too much by any interview questions re it.

I know, the last one was "I married my friend when we were drunk at the Church of Scientology"! Hard to beat that.

You might find this an anti climax but I am seriously really worried about it!
How will I remember what I wrote in the essay in 4 weeks time without reading it again?!

    That's a good idea.

If you only wrote it recently then make notes NOW on what you can remember, and you will remember the rest when they prompt you in the interview. They won't ask you to recite word for word what you wrote.

well you know what it was about dont you? the book or the question or whatever. so think about it again now. and maybe you will even come up with some better ideas so when they question you about it in future you can be all "oh yeah i did think that but now i think this" and they will be all "woah look her mind is ever-evolving and she is reflexive". which would be good for you as an applicant.

see when you say "really REALLY stupid" i am there thinking maybe you accidentally sent them a letter bomb.

    Ah fair enough.
If I see a thread title like this in Cambridge or Oxbridge at this time of year, I immediately assume its something admin related, but nvm :p:
