Paralegal vacancies

Hello All

I completed the LPC and achieved a distinction in the summer. I have been applying to paralegal positions for the past month and have had no luck at all. Is it better to go through a legal recruitment agency (i don't know if they charge a fee for this) or directly via the law firm's career pages? Most of the job posts I have seen on Linkedin/Indeed/Reed have been placed by agencies.

Also, does anyone know how to stand out on paralegal applications since only a CV is mandatory? Should I change the way my CV looks according to the type of job I am applying to?

This process has been highly frustrating for me since I graduated in 2020 and have been working in retail ever since. I have lots of legal work experience gained through vacation schemes/social mobility schemes.

Any insights from anyone in a similar position/has secured a paralegal role would be much appreciated!
