Does anyone know where i can still get this?

It used to be available in Morrisons and Holland and Barratt but neither of these places do it anymore.
They stock something similar to it but it isn't suitable for vegans wheras sos mix was.

I've tried looking online for it but haven't been able to find anything yet.

    Any ideas?

Thanks for those, the first one is sold out and you need eggs for the second one so thats no good.

I'll keep checking to see if the first ones comes back in stock though, probably won't knowing my luck lol.

    Thanks

Oh sorry, I thought I saw that you could use oil in the 2nd one, Have you looked in the supermarkets? I've seen more and more supermarkets making their own brand vege stuff vegan too.

I've tried ASDA and Tesco but all of their veggie stuff contains milk which is a bit stupid.

I didn't notice the oil bit, i'll have to check that one again.

Either way, although most of the directions say to use egg, you really can just use oil =] or if in doubt, egg replacer.

I bought some sos mix a few weeks ago.. its still around in some places though I guess it may be old.

I buy homemade sos mix direct from Veggies but Veggies stuff is only really available in the East Midlands.

hmm have you tried any organic/whole food shops that are near you - not Holland and Barrett or Julian Graves - they sell it in my union whole food co-op shop, and in most of the freelance organic shops.

    What is Sosmix?
Sosmix is a vegetarian sausage mix that has been around almost as long as there have been vegetarians.
Its been used by vegetarian & vegans for many years to make great meat free meals.

Why is it now so difficult to find Sosmix?
Over the years Sosmix has had a few owners. It started as Protoveg Sosmix and then bought by another firm, then another.
Recently it was bought by Symingtons foods who decide to stop supplying it in the usual small packets & boxes.

    Where can we buy Sosmix?
Sosmix is very hard to find but the online Vegan Store, Alternative Stores are still supplying original Sosmix in new 1KG & 500g bags.
It can also be bought direct from Alternative Stores Newcastle Vegan Store.
We have also found several health food stores selling a sausage mixes with the label "sosmix" but its not the original
Sosmix, often containing egg & dairy & tastes like cardboard.

    How do I use Sosmix?
Simply mix 150g of Sosmix with 250ml of cold water & allow to stand for 10 mins.
Form into sausage or burger shapes & fry gently in a little oil until golden brown or bake on a tray in the oven.
Add herbs, onions, tomato, vegetables, garlic to taste. See our Sosmix Recipie pages for more ideas
