Hey, I think LegalTom is right in assuming you meant 4000 characters, or perhaps you have misread it? The statement I submitted was 617 words and 3907 characters (including spaces). It took me about an hour but I wrote it, went away and came back and looked at it before editing it slightly!
I wouldn't panic

Thanks. I think i got there in the end. As to the quality, that's debatable .Thankfully that interview allocation is with the NGDP. I hope i get the opportunity to shine more at the interview than this form!

Hi everyone!

I'm Amie, Cohort 24 at Rotherham Council and member of the Northern Network!

There is a Multi Network Drop In Session taking place on Wednesday 3rd June at 1pm where you can chat to current graduates on the scheme. You can ask general questions, and find out more about the different groups representing a variety of interests that you can become a member of.

The Northern Network is welcome to anyone at a northern council, from the North, or just looking to know more about learning and opportunities in the North. There are also a variety of other networks you can join such as Green, London, or BAME.

What councils did everyone end up picking?
I went with
Liverpool City as my first choice!

I went with:

1.lga
2.Kensington&Chelsea
3.Islington
4.North of Tyne Combined Authority
5.Newcastle City Council

Would love to stay in Newcastle but both only taking on 1 NMT scares me haha. Will be interesting to see what interview/s I end up getting!

There’s a second round interview after the first one in we’re about to have in May, post assessment centre?

I believe these are to try to match up some candidates who didn't get a place and some councils that had no one accept their offers iirc.

I have been offered a full time job elsewhere.... does anyone know where I can withdraw my application? Or is there an email address?

Congratulations on your fulltime job! However i would advise to continue with the process as its always good to keep all options, as the job you have accepted may not be something you expected etc.
I also have been offered a job elsewhere but as the NGDP has better progression I'm waiting it out, as I want to make sure I make the right decision.
If you're certain, then you can email them to withdraw. On each email correspondence from Iga there's an option to opt out completely.

3.If you wish to no longer be considered for a specific job you have made an application for you can click here, login, and either click Withdraw or Delete Application

Good luck in whatever you decide!

When they say "by Thursday 11th May", does that mean that we could be emailed before, depending on the council?

Yes. Going by the previous cohorts (chats) they have been coming in as, and when.
I didn't word it greatly, i meant "till". But from Tuesday onwards we should see some activity from responding councils until Thursday. I'm not sure that's a wide enough timeframe due to the bank holiday. So I'm just assuming that Thurs will probably extend into Fri? Also last year they sent an email out, once all interviews had been allocated. Hope they do that again, so we know not to wait.

Hi I missed the first part which was 30-40 mins and were PowerPoint slides. I have asked if they can email them and they said they would email to everyone. So hopefully look out for that.
Other than that we just did mock interview and the usual generic questions- "y this council" " what are your strengths" " problems facing local councils" etc...
Enjoy ur holiday!

Did anyone else who did the local recruitment got their call with the outcome of the final interview and heard from the council since??
