has anybody had any contact with their potential universities and been told that the university accepts access applications from access students but it all depends on the body and/or the merits it offers?

the admissions tutor i spoke to today, at first said i needed 60 credits (which i thought was high? ive only seen birmingham requiring that) and then she didnt appear to know there was a difference between between the open university (OU) and the open college network (OCN). does anybody else get their access awarded through OCN? and have they had any uni's saying its not accepted?
