Chelsea college of Arts

Did anyone study interior deisgn at Chelsea college of arts?
I'll be starting next year and I want to know what the experience was like. I've been hearing bad stuff about some ual courses but mostly from the art degrees at csm or lcf. But nothing about Chelsea.

When did you apply? Sorry unrelated to your question

I applied January this year, got accepted in April. I was going to start this September, but I choose to defer to next year.

Ohh I see. Did you apply anywhere else in UAL? Also did you do the foundation course?

Chelsea is the only one that offers the interior design degree, and I didn't have to do a foundation year since I had a strong portfolio. But I've heard it varies from person to person

Do you mind sharing your portfolio with me on Instagram? I'm trying to apply to an undergrad course straight away and want to get a good feel of what an accepted portfolio looks like.

Hi there!

We have a number of UAL students on Unibuddy, a platform that connects current students to future and prospective students. I'd recommend reaching out to one of our students on the platform who will be happy to tell you about their experience at UAL! You can find Unibuddy at https://www.arts.ac.uk/study-at-ual/askastudent

I hope this helps!

Chelsea is one of the laziest attempts at an art institutions I've seen, if your looking for likeminded individuals that are passionate about exploring obscure approaches to your field (design, arts, etc.) this is not the place. You will be surrounded by students who are completely oblivous to what is going on and almost nobody seems to have a personal voice, everyone is pretty copy paste. As for the teachers and classes its absolutely abhorant how this instituion is run, there are barely any lectures and the classes are filled with bs talks about the most basic topics. This is the place to go if you have absolutely no backround in art or design and want to stay ignorant, save yourself some money and go anywhere else. Technicians are cool tho, big up them for caring about the students.
