    Okay session tonight.

    High bar squat:

    117.5 x 5/5/5

    Not too bad.

    Bench press:

    90 x 1/1/1/1/1/1/1/1
    80 x 5
    70 x 9

Trying something new for my bench since what I've been doing previously obviously hasn't been working.

    RDLs:

    65 x 8/8/8

Back not so comfortable with these.

Did some chins but not much because I gave the rack away by mistake. Them some mobility and home.

Okay session again tonight. Well actually quite good I suppose.

    High bar squat:

    120 x 5/5/5

Much harder than last time. Did absolutely no mobility work this weekend and definitely felt it in the positions I was hitting when squatting. Didn't seem to be nearly so stable in the hole etc. and some reps were quite ugly.

    Press:

    60 x 5/5/5/2/3

Was actually going for five sets of five but never got it using new technique.

    Deadlifts:

    140 x 5

Tried these to see where my back is at and it felt almost fine doing these. Encouraging. Weight was really light too for not having deadlifted in so long.

    Did some mobility and home.

Good session tonight. Fine and quick.

    Bench press:

    92.5 x 1/1/1/1/1/1/1/1
    80 x 5

None of the singles were excruciatingly difficult. Didn't get as much reps as I was hoping for in the back off though.

Arms superset: Skull crushers and curls

bar + 20, four sets of skulls and three sets of curls. Couldn't do a fourth set of curls as arms were frying.

    Mobility, stretching and home.

    Another good session tonight.

    High bar squats:

    122.5 x 5/5/5

Felt much easier than last time. Mobility was better, hitting better positions.

    Deadlifts:

    145 x 5

Okay. No back problems as of yet with these.

    GHRs:

    bodyweight x 10/10/10

Felt these quite hard in my hamstrings.

    Mobility, stretching and home.

    Terrible session tonight.

    High bar squat:

    125 x 5/5/5

Form was better than last Monday as I did some mobility over the weekend but not quite as good as Friday. Was quite hard too.

    Press:

    62.5 x 5/4/3

Meh. Never had anything left in me for a fifth on the second set so had to rack it. Really struggled getting three on last set, shoulders had gave out after the first set.

Did some quick mobility and stretching then went home. No point in staying to do assistance since I'd **** that up too. Just one of those nights.

    Much better session tonight.

    High bar squats:

    127.5 x 5/5/5

Easier than last time. Was reading about "sitting into it" and "putting hips between heels" and they really make the high bar squat better. Plus, chest up better too.

    Bench Press:

    95 x 1/1/1/1/1

My current PR for five singles. 4th was the easiest, 5th not bad either. First three were pretty poor form: elbows flared too much, not tight enough etc.

Close grip paused pin press with pin set at chest:

    60 x 10/10/10

Did these from pins because I know I'm prone to sudden failure on close grips and had no spot by this time.

    Deadlifts:

    150 x 5

Form not so good I don't think. Not enough hips or legs. Back was probably rounded too. But not too difficult.

    Chins:

    bodyweight x 5/4/3

    Arms were tired.

    Mobility and home.

Meh session this afternoon. Saturday sessions are nearly always meh.

    Power Cleans:

worked up to 80 x 3 in triples with 5kg jumps.

Meh. Back was quite tight on these so not the most comfortable.

    Dumbbell Bench Press:

    32s x 5/4/7

Haven't done these an ages so took a bit of getting used to, hence why I actually got more reps on the last set than the other two.

    Barbell Row:

    worked up to 90 x 5

No back pain when doing these tonight, very encouraging. Also first time doing them in a while.

    Mobility, stretching and home.

Those powercleans are looking good, do you train C&J too or just the cleans?

I don't train either to be honest, I just occasionally do power cleans.

Ah I see. Fair enough, I sometimes dabble in both myself. My problem is getting a decent technique!

I can only get decent technique with heavier weights. Anything below 50kg and it's just an upright row.

Yeah I see what you mean. Squatting super light is also a bit ropey.

    Good session tonight.

    High bar squats:

    130 x 5/5/5

Not too hard. Middle set the hardest, form not perfect on any sets and on last set put the bar too high which made the initial reps harder but overall not too hard. Also an all time PR on the olympic squat.

    Press:

    62.5 x 5/5/5

    Quite hard.

    Deadlifts:

    155 x 5

    Not too hard.

    Mobility, stretching and home.

    Good session tonight.

    High bar squats:

    132.5 x 5/5/5

Much harder than last time. First set was using a ****ty bar which was ... well ... ****ty. Got them all, but definitely the hardest squats I've done in a while.

    Bench Press:

    100 x 1
    102.5 x f/f

Finally got 100. Wasn't too bad. Thought I'd manage 102.5 at least but first time I tried it I went all out of line and spent a lot of energy on it so didn't have much left for a second time. Still, 100 has eluded me for a long time now, glad to have finally done it.

    Pin press from chest:

    80 x 3/3/3

    Pretty hard after the benching.

    Barbell rows:

    90 x 5/5/5

    Okay.

    Mobility and home.

Thanks everyone, it's taken me far too long to hit 100. Now it's back to the plan: lots of heavy singles, and this time I'm going to follow it up with dumbbell work. The heavy singles help me learn how to keep tight and push; I didn't get that with fives as after the first few reps I seemed to lose my tightness. The dumbbell work will help with hypertrophy and strength.

Solid plan. Well done by the way, I'm hoping to hit it next chest day. After 90kgx5 I think it's within my grasp.
