    Good session tonight.

    Squats:

    167.5 x 5/5/5

Same as last time, really. Some reps a bit deep, and very difficult.

    Bench press:

    92 x 5/5/5

    Got them all this time.

    Chins:

    bodyweight x 5/5/5/5/5

Trying to get back into these.

Some lacrosse ball work then home.

    Meh session tonight.

    Squats:

    128 x 5/5

Light enough, but just feel awkward when the rack is really squint against the mirror. Obviously I try not to look at the mirror, but my preferred eye gaze spot is around 6 feet in front of me which unfortunately clips the bottom of the mirror.

    Press:

    70 x 5/5/5

Easier than I thought they would be. Was going to go for 69 but the 25s were handy. Maybe it's because I was facing away from the mirror, or maybe it was because I was using a different bar than I normally use for the press, or maybe it was just a good night.

    Deadlifts:

    195 x 3

Disappointed in only getting three reps. I tried my 175 warm up single with double overhand as opposed to hook grip, which was stupid as I know from experience if I fail a double overhand rep it ****s me up for the rest of the session, and I couldn't budge it so had to do hook grip. And maybe it was my grip that failed as I just couldn't budge the 4th.

    Then home.

You may have answered before but I've forgotten, is your press a Push or Strict?

    Hello Smash,

How have you found your physique (mostly upper body) change significantly when doing Starting Strength (I assume that's the program you're on, but are you doing the whole eat a million calories a day he prescribes?)

Neither. I'm aiming for the press as it was performed in the Olympics before it got dropped (in the early 70s I believe).

Physique changes are proportional to strength gains and food consumed. Although to be truthful I haven't actually done "Starting Strength" for many years now. I just can't change the title of the thread.

A 7+ year old thread. Wow. "Impressed" would be the understatement of the century. I'm in!

Not sure what I'd rename it to. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

    Good session tonight.

    Squats:

    170 x 5/5/5

Mere survival. Excruciating. Most difficult squats I've ever done. Did these facing away from the mirror too. If I did RPE these would be 10.

Thinking of changing my programming on squats. I don't think I can sustain the current progress. Thinking of switching to Madcow style programming on the squat, since it worked before.

    Bench press:

    94 x 5/5/5

Happy to get them all. Quite difficult.

    Then home.

I like to note when I go home as some people only log their main lifts. When I say I went home it signifies that I didn't do anything after it.

Yeah I know. Might use that title actually. But I've kinda gotten used to the current title. Not sure.

Thinking of a possible username change as well. Anyone got any suggestions?

I think you have to have a new account these days before a name change

I'm sure I've seen quite a few users have their names changed recently without the creation of a new account.

They've changed the rules again? It used to be they'd give a name change if you were personally identifiable. E. G. Jim blogs with a username of JBloggs which the super old members will remember the hats what my original username was.

    Not a great session tonight.

    Squats:

    130 x 5/5

A bit lighter than light squats usually feel.

    Press:

    72 x 4/2/2
    50 x 10

On sets with 72 I wasn't keeping my lats tight and my elbows were in the wrong position I think. Disappointed after Monday's pressing. Did a back-off set with 50 to get some work in and make the corrections.

    Chins:

    bodyweight x 6/6/6/5

    Meh.

    Then home.

    Meh session tonight.

    Squats:

    150 x 10

Just wanted to do some high reps until I decide how I'm going to continue with squats. Difficult cardiovascular wise.

    Bench press:

    95 x 4/3/2

    Quite poor.

    Deadlifts;

    195 x 3

    Same as last time.

    Then home.
