Im thinking flatmates coz im going to be spending a lot of time with my coursemates anyway and want to keep as many friendship groups as possible - if i lived with my coursemates (and obviously spent all my lectures with them) i might only socialise with them and not meet as many new people. Also i dont want to be constantly reminded of the work i should be doing if they are working etc.!

I'm going to be living with my flatmates as I know them (and their habits) alot better. I can just imagine moving in with someone lovely from my course, only to find out they're a right pain to live with!

Lol, I'm not living with my flatmates. 5 girls and 2 gay guys?

No thanks.

And I don't know, I doubt I'll be able to get into halls again. I'm not worrying about it until at least January.

Two flatmates, a girl who i met through a flatmate so far, still need 2 more ppl. I wouldn't live with course ppl cos its nice just seeing them at lectures and not having to see them 24/7

6 lads in a house from this years halls, gonna be a right laugh!

Would never live with coursemates for the same reasons as herecomestrouble.

i have absolutely no idea, my flat mates have all pretty much decided who to live with. I get on with them but at the same time im not massively friendly with them. I'm just going to see how it goes and if worst comes to worst, il live with people i don't know next year.

All by myself with my cat.:yep:

Flatmates - I know I can live with them.

I'm only living with one coursemate (though to be fair, he's the only person in college in my year, doing my course that I could live with! ) who incidentally happens to be the only person I was living with last year. Am living with a different bunch of friends to last year

People are deciding already?!

I don't think people should commit themselves to anything just yet, there are still so many more people that you'll meet between now and when you really need to think about it. Saying that I think that if you get on well with your flatmates from first year then living with them the following year would not be a bad idea. You'll know all their habits and everything beforehand!

Probably either my girlfriend or a couple of friends who live here already.

Arggg this thread sends me into a panic! I know it's a bit early to be thinking about this sort of thing but it does worry me quite a lot. I have 2 flat mates I could live with and I know we'd be fine together (a guy and a girl), although as much as much as I like the guy I'm not sure I'd want to live with him again really It's hard to explain why, he's a really nice person but I'm just not so keen on the idea.
As for coursemates, I really don't feel I know anyone very well. There's only one guy I really sit with since we live in the same halls and catch the bus together but I barely speak to anyone else and he wouldn't want to live with me. It's really disheartening as I had a big circle of really great friends at school... and now I only have one person I feel I'd really like to live with, one I wouldn't mind, and literally no other candidates :frown:

i have no friends anymore........guess i'll just find a spare room in a house somewhere later on in the year.

I'm thinking the same thing...isn't it a bit early?

In Sheffield things are happening stupidly quickly this year.. landlords started pushing people into signing contracts from the beginning of November, the majority of people I know already have got somewhere sorted!

Could be due to the economy?

We have to decide by December. We've only been here 8 weeks or so.

I have absolutely no idea. To be honest, whilst I've made friends, I don't really think I'm close enough to anybody here to ask them to live with me.

I'm sure things will sort themselves out eventually, though.
