What do people think of his work? Brilliantly original and disturbing or pretentious and unnecessarily oblique?
I remember playing Aston in The Caretaker for my final GCSE Drama performance and it felt very different, unique and original. It was hard portraying Aston because his character had a special presence demonstrated by actions rather than words. The three characters were contrasting yet Pinter somehow managed to link their personalities through a somewhat confusing plot and I think that's what makes some of his playwrights original.
