What does it mean by "back- to- back episodes"?

as in: The highlight of my afternoon was to watch back to back episodes of the Batman television
series. I actually dreaded weekends because it meant no Batman!

Back to back means two similar events occuring one right after another. In this case the station
ran two episodes of the writer's favorite program sequentially.
