Any past experience would be really helphul :w00t: :ciao:
Thank you very much. :bumps:

P.S. Questions for other interviews are also warmly welcomed (Just mention the name of the uni) Not only Brisol gives int after all. :wink2:

hey
I too have a dental interview at bristol approaching

last year one of the topics for the 10 minute essay was about the members of a dental team
i had an interview at bristol today.
it was fine, the interviewers were really nice and friendly. They just asked me questions about me and extending on stuff from the personal statement. there wasn't really any questions about fillings and stuff like that.
The 10 minute essay was about how you see dentistry in the future, again it wasn't that bad.

Good luck with your interviews

Heeey guys
I had my interview on Monday (it was a morning interview) the 10 minute essay was about career prospects for dentists in the UK. I wrote about GDP's, Hospital dentistry, Community Dental Service, Dentistry in companies and factories and Dentistry in the Armed forces. As a whole what are the practices in which a newly qualified dentist could choose to practice.
Do you think this was the right thing to write ? I mean what would you have chosen to talk about if you were asked this question ?

The interviewers were really friendly and nice people
They asked me:
Why would you like to study in the UK?
Why Bristol?
Why dentistry?
What changes are there in dentistry ( I didn't know what exactly to talk about here so i decided to tell them about an advancment I had recently read in the internet) ?
What do you do to relax?
What dental treatment interests you most ?
Asked me some things I have mentioned in my PS. Have a look at it !

That is all I can remember :smile::smile: hope it helps
Good luck to all of us

Yes they did :smile::smile: I asked them about the research oportunities at the uni that were mentioned in the curriculum information

oh yeah i see what you mean, i was in the fourth team. and i had the dr moran guy, which was a bit hard because he was the main gu aswell. I got asked what risks do dentists face? and i mentioned cross contamination, and infection, but then he was looking for hep B and it totally slipped my mind. apart from that was okay. what did you take in for manual dex? they didnt really look at mine much.
for the essay i wrote about NHS and how the reforms and change in contract means less people are seeing, so despite the new NHS funding targeted at dentists there will have to be reviews. then i said technology, liek the CEREC machine, and use of machinery and robots etc.
How many weeks work experiecne had u done?
they didnt even look at my essay while i was in there?

i did work experience once a week at my local practice for about 4/5 months, and a few days in a hospital and a few days in a lab. No they didn't look at my essay either, i had to give it to them at the end or im not sure they would have even taken it!!
Have u got any other interviews?
i got one at manchester tomorrow and im still waiting to here from birmingham and cardiff
