Jokes are supposed to be funny Mohammed.

As a 4th choice he is fine if the first 3 are fit most of the time, but he has played way too many games this season. He relied on his pace and due to his injuries he has lost some of it which has resulted in his performances dropping. I don’t know how he and Curtis Jones signed new long-term deals recently.

Yeah how ain’t it funny its the one competition lousypool competing in, and will only be competing in for, for another 4 weeks or so.

At least Zaha is unavailable for today's game.

Palace in somewhat indifferent form at the moment with a lot of draws. They still have pace in their side and Viera seems to be a decent job so I expect they will be licking their lips after seeing the Madrid game.

With us basically being out of every cup competition, the next 8 days feels huge with Crystal Palace, Wolves and Man Utd to play..

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Milner, Keita; Salah, Gakpo, Jota.

Subs: Kelleher, Fabinho, Firmino, Jones, Elliott, Tsimikas, Carvalho, Bajcetic, Williams.

Nunez out with a shoulder injury sustained v Newcastle, hopefully be back v Wolves. Gomez also injured.

A dull 0-0..

I guess some will again be angry we didn't win but on the other hand we didn't concede 5 so maybe it's progress..

Every cloud. Again, our midfield was absolutely dire but what do you expect from 37 year old Milner (best of the 3), Henderson who cannot play twice a week (or month it seems these days) and a CBA Keita who was begging to get sent off.

0-0 not the end of the world provided we beat Wolves.

Rest of the season we need to go 2 points a game average. Last 3 we have done 2.3 and if we beat Wolves it’ll be 2.5, so will keep us on track for 4th.

Think Newcastle will lose momentum, they don't score enough goals, if you can somehow get the defence sorted then Liverpool should get fourth, Spurs are weird and thereabouts but they're a Kane injury away from finishing 8th.

Every game that passes, I lose more hope!

Liverpool's wage bill climbed from £314million for 2020-21 to £366m for 2021-22 (partly explained by performance-related player bonuses, as Liverpool won both domestic cups and also got to the Champions League final for a third time in five seasons).

Over the past five years, Liverpool’s wage bill has increased by 76 per cent from £208m in 2017.

Elliott had a hattrick of chances.

Midfield did better than I thought it would considering how young 2 of them are.

Pleased with the 3 points.

Next 5 league games:

Man Utd (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Man City (A)
Chelsea (A)
Arsenal (H)

That is some run of fixtures…

9/15 would probably be a good return there but expect 7 to be closer to reality.

We also have Real Madrid after Bournemouth but then there is an international break for a couple of weeks before the Man City game.

What’s FPL ?

I forgot there were games on yesterday but that was a massive win for Liverpool who have had 4 consecutive clean sheets in the League. If they lose to Manchester United, top 4 is over.

Remember Tottenham will be haunted by yesterday’s result against Sheffield United. The Fa Cup was theirs to lose and they have been relying on Harry Kane over the whole season. Newcastle as predicted have dropped off. If Liverpool beat Man United I think they’ll finish in the top 4 because Tottenham won’t be able to cope with the pressure resulting in Conte leaving at the end of the season.

Why wasn’t Curtis Jones on the bench yesterday ?

Because he is genuinely crap.
