Bobby leaving at the end of the season. A legend and an absolute icon of the Klopp era, will be gutted seeing him leave.

Reply 801

Thank **** for that, another player out who we don’t need.

Reply 802

ah so its only useless midfielders you keep around for years after their sell by date?

gotcha

Yes very sad. Obviously was massively outshone by Salah's scoring and Mane's important goals but he was so important to that brilliant front 3 that won everything.

Brutal!

I think we offered him a lowball contract which reflected that he would be 2nd or 3rd choice. I wouldn't have minded him staying for another season or two on like 60-90k a week but I can see why he's leaving.

It is brutal but I respect what he was but just do not want to see players who can’t contribute right now still at the club.

Yeah this really.

If they're not performing due to age/injuries etc. they should not be at the club. That's how you end up with a bloated squad with players who take up wages not being there for half a season like Chamberlain/Jones/Matip/Gomez for starters.

Jota and Keita as well.

6 players who are meant to be contributing who just cannot stay fit. Shite.

Maybe getting Gakpo was just a way to replace Firmino. While there are more pressing issues I'm sure they're just waiting for Bellingham in the summer while they were hoping they could sort out this shitshow(that Klopp created) absolutely no reason to extend Chamberlains contract when he had a triple knee ligament break

Mason Mount to Liverpool rumours still keep flying about. We all know your thoughts about him at Chelsea but how do you think he will do under Klopp (alongside other midfielder signings). Its not expected that he will be a world beater but could he fulfill the Wijnaldum role and give us energy and legs?

He'd be fine for you guys. I don't think he's a bad player whatsoever just having a bad season, we know the way you like midfielders with energy and I think it'll be a bad mistake to sell him to you guys, fortunately though I think we'll reach a decision with his contract, you're not giving him 300k a week that's for sure and the chances of trophies are about the same at his boyhood club compared to Liverpool atm.

He'd be fine for the Wijnaldum role and he stays fit for majority of the season. Would be a foolish decision from our part if we decide to sell to rivals.

I think you would sell to us if it means if frees up more spending to keep within FFP (as you can't amortise spending over 7/8 year contracts anymore) but I agree realistically we aren't going to give him massive wages anyway.

In fairness he had a good patch of form earlier in the season when everyone else was struggling.

He'll do a decent job for someone but he's lost his (limited) pace and legs. I think he could've had a role if the rest of the team were performing as he's brilliant in those tight spaces and his silky touch.

Matip was great last season. Gomez stays due to homegrown rules and low-ish wages. We know Ox and Keita should've been binned ages ago but they'll leave on a free. Jota does seem to miss a lot of games..

Yea they've seen Gakpo play in that #9 position and maybe they've decided he's settled quickly enough so Firmino can leave on a free rather than needing another year. I'm sure Gakpo's world cup performances and that Man Utd were so heavily linked meant we stepped it up 6 months.

Ugh I do not want Mason Mount. He's over-rated because he's English and wages will be huge too.

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Elliott; Salah, Gakpo, Nunez.

Subs: Kelleher, Milner, Firmino, Jones, Jota, Tsimikas, Carvalho, Matip, Bajcetic

Elliot… looking forward to having the midfield overran and a 3-1 defeat.
