Sure but even if Trent plays the same role in midfield, there is a #6 and a RB behind him so should be less exposed. Also would mean less 1 vs 1 battles. I guess why would you need your RB to bomb on so much if you have Trent/Salah further in front? They would just need to be an option to get involved, so like a standard RB.

Does feel like VVD is losing his aura this season.
True I think Elliott has been an issue because Hendo would always cover but Elliott doesnt quite seem to have the legs to track as much.
Yea true - I have no issue with Salah not tracking back but then oddly you would think our LB would be told to be more adventurous rather than our RB!

Dunno this summer is huge. If Klopp has another season like this one, FSG/Klopp will no doubt decide that's the end of his time.

That should be the thinking but even when Milner/Gomez have played right back they have been told to bomb on, so would need a re-think in the tactics slightly.

I do think Van Dijk has been exposed by the midfield but there are instances where he doesn’t help himself, like the goal by Bournemouth when he showed the attacker down the line and then just stopped playing…

That is exactly how I would set-up on FM but there is probably a reason I’m not paid millions despite my extensive FM experience!

I feel that Klopp would walk himself if we have another season like that, take a year or so off and then take over Bayern from Tuchel and Germany another 2-4 years down the line.

Could see Klopp taking the RM job.

I guess we'll see a big revamp in the summer either way - whether its different tactics or just new players implementing tactics in a different way/hopefully better.

VVD still only 31 so hopefully just a blimp in form rather than decline. He started playing late age too.

Yes I see Klopp becoming Germany national manager at some point. Do you think he'd really be that keen on the Bayern job?

Alisson, Gomez, Matip, Konate, Tsimikas, Fabinho, Henderson, Jones, Jota, Nunez, Firmino.

Subs: Kelleher, Milner, Salah, Gakpo, Robertson, Carvalho, Arthur, Phillips, Alexander-Arnold.

VVD out due to illness. Did not train yesterday

Well that experimental / reserve team did not work.. was such a poor football match all round (from both sides).

Any stats from anywhere that backup the reasons why the season has been so bad? I'm guessing the numbers from midfield must be somewhat different, and up front maybe too since we've had some change there. Positioning of other teams playing differently with no Mane/Dias on the left for example?

VVD available v Arsenal, Thiago might be, Diaz back v Leeds

Our home form is good/reasonable. Currently 5th in the home tables but we've played 2 games less so could be anywhere from 3rd to 5th best (and if we did those 2 games, we're only a point or two behind Man City/Arsenal totals).

Our away form is so bad. We've played 15 games and only have 13 points. I expect all our metrics are down, from ground covered, to regains, to possessions, to turnovers lost, to lower good chances created/low xG to concede more high chances/high xGA.

1-0 Martinelli

Terrible crisis defending, 3 chances to stop it and nobody willing to get hurt to prevent it.

Don’t understand what any Liverpool player was trying to do in that sequence.

Everyone was at fault.

Why do we have someone who is 6ft 4” on corners as well.

Reply 995

Are we now playing with a back 3, as Trent is standing next to Fabinho.

No yellow for Saka when kicking the ball away but Salah got one last week :dontknow:
