Are my Uni options realistic? - English

Hi everyone, I'm currently thinking of studying English at Uni.
My uni choices so far are Cambridge, Durham or St Andrews, UCL, Warwick and York. My predicted grades are A*A*A (eng lit, psychology, chemistry) and I have an A in EPQ. Got AAA in my AS exams. I'm just worried that some of these Unis, Durham, St Andrews and UCL in particular will see that I didn't get 3 A* predicted like everyone else who applies there and will reject me.

You've already got higher grades than what is required, and I understand your worries about being rejected because of other people having A*A*A*, but don't sell yourself short either. If you create a decent personal statement, I'd say that plus your grades on top would lure in pretty good chances of getting accepted from your chosen universities. I'd say go for it, absolutely.

Not all applicants to Durham, UCL or Andrews are predicted 3A*s. It would be silly not to apply.

You have many very competitive unis on your list. You should consider 3 elite unis and 2 “normal” unis.
