I sent of my UCAS on 6th October for Economics at LSE, UCL, Cambridge, Warwick and Royal Holloway.

Now I have got one offer from Royal Holloway which I can definitely meet, but I have been rejected from UCL. LSE is likely to reject me and Cambridge is a lottery. Warwick gives offers to everyone (Maths + Economics) but requires STEP which again depends on the exam.

If I don't get into any of the other 3 would a gap year be advisable or should I just stick with Royal Holloway (really doesn't appeal to me very much but was better than all the other options at ABB)?? I would like a gap year but wouldn't know what to do... don't want to spend a year at home. At the same time I don't want to be left out when all my friends are going to uni.

    Any advice?

Wait until the other uni's have replied before you start planning for the 'what ifs' - no point fretting until you know for sure where you stand.

So why did you apply to RH?
    what was yoiur thinking?
e.g. I am not sure how you preferred RH to all the ABB unis.

But yes your uni choices (4 of the top 5) plus RH were bizarre to say the least.

p.s. re M+E Warwick are you sure you want to do the 1st year of a maths degree?
e.g. does Analysis (why calculus works) interest you?

I wanted an insurance as I thought I definitely want to go to uni and at the time I really liked the look of Royal Holloway... but now I'm not so sure.

I am really interested in Maths and would love a place at Warwick but the grade in STEP depends on the day.
