I understand that Camsis updates very slowly.
The bottleneck is a team of monkeys who polish each byte by hand before they manually glue it into place in the database.
    LOL, excellent illustration!

When did you have your application in by?

I want a good email! Do you know what college you will be in?
I did a paper application and sent it recorded delivery 2 days before the deadline in November....so perhaps it was one of the first they got to. I have no idea what college or even the conditions of my offer yet, though I assume they will require a first.

Apparently quite a number of offers have been made by Cambridge over at the LLM Board, around 20 of them at the very least.

Hi, I received an offer earlier in the week too. I would go over to the LLM Guide forum, it seems a little more active!

Anyone heard anything from Ox? I imagine over the next month they'll start contacting people?
Yea...none have heard from Ox so far, a couple from Cam though.

Rumours on the other forum are that Ox will be sending decisions within the next 2 weeks or so- something around March 15th.

For the academic conditions, are they likely to be a 'first class' or a specific percentage average that you will need to get?

If you look at last year's posts in the LLM guide, this appears to be so.

    Hi everyone.

The Oxford decisions should (hopefully) be out soon and so I thought I would revive this thread! How is everyone doing? Any other Cambridge offerees out there?! Do we think that Oxford decisions will be out this coming week?

I believe it started last Friday. At least, that is when Cam broke up and they tend to be fairly standardised.

If you are referring to the BCL admissions, a couple of people have heard. They contacted a lady in the admissions office who then relayed a quick email back to them. I believe there was a delay of some sort finishing inputting them into the system but we were told results would continue to drib out over the weekend so you may here something tomorrow. If not, Monday or Tuesday is a definite....probably... Good luck! :woo:

So hearing by email seems to be the way things are happening? Both at Cam and Ox?

I've no real idea anymore. Those who have been chasing this poor woman in admissions have been getting replys to emails they have sent but, after people saying they spoke to her last week and that she would be sending emails, it now appears that letters have gone out/are going out, last night/this morning. TBH I think people on that other thread have been confusing the issue by claiming things which aren't true. If you are a UK applicant, I guess we can expect a letter tomorrow or Thurs. :hmmmm2:

EDT. I've just noticed you're not a UK applicant so it may depend on your postal service but I guess I'll keep you posted as to if and when a letter arrives so that you've got something to go on...

You got an offer then? What stage are you at the moment (undergrad...etc)? What were your college choices? It's all so exciting! :p:
Yep! I graduated last year and I'm on a gap year at the moment. You in your final year?

College choices- Keble and Worcester. What about you?!

I know, although now I've got to try and work out whether to go for Cambridge or Ox- how surreal! did you apply to anywhere else?

BCL Ox >>>> LLM Cam
Ah, but if it was only that that simple. Cam are far better for two of the subjects I'd probably pursue (IP and legal history) but I do like the idea of the tutorial system and the added contact time you get at Ox above the 'go and get on' attitude at Cam. Plus, Ox offer more options which would be of direct interest while at Cam, I would probably end up specialising in my two main interests rather than broadening my horizons a bit.

To be frank, I don't buy into this 'the BCL is the best and most prestigous postgraduate law qualification' rubbish. Granted, it will probably more intense in the sense that you have to prepare essays for tutorials and you have more contact time but I imagine the workload will be pretty similar, just at Cam you will be able to relax and contend with it under your own steam rather than work to external deadlines. Essentially both are of an extremely high quality and the choice should depend on interests, life plans etc.
