How would you rate 2008, music-wise? I personally preferred 2007 - there have been some good albums, but not as many as last year. Anything that stood out for you?

2008 was a good year, but I still feel that earlier in the decade was when the better releases were.

It's been ***** tbh, 2007 was much better in terms of releases from the bands I really like. Most of the albums that I was looking out for this year were a little disappointing - particularly Slipknot's All Hope Is Gone, and to a lesser extent Stam1na's Raja album and Dragonforce's Ultra Beatdown.

The 2 new releases I have enjoyed the most this year have been Within Temptation's live album Black Symphony and Amon Amarth's Twilight of the Thunder God.

Here's hoping for a new Sonata Arctica album in 2009, there's been a couple of hints on the forums. Would also really, really love to see a new Apocalyptica album.

Erm, I don't think I have any albums released this year, apart from Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust. It's been a rather disappointing year — November already and very few I've been even tempted to purchase.
