    Hi,

I am not sure if we can go into detail on what the interview consists of (or was that the induction ).

The interview structure varies, between departments, and even within departments. As you rightfully mentioned, some can consist of a 'group interview'. These usually involve, an ice-breaker of somesort, (to see how well you socialise), and a test (to assess you within the group). Or, a 'One on One' interview, this will usually be with a Department Manager (and highly unlikely), with a Department Team Leader. The 'One on One' consists of (again, it varies), two sorts of tests. Some have said, that you are given a list of meals, and a list of people. You then have to chose which meal you would give to which person and why. Or, it is a basic assessment test, it involved a few multiple-choice questions, again, you pick your answer, and explain why you have chose this.

I don't work on Counters, or have any experience with Counters at all, so unfortunately, I can't give you a answer to that part of your question - but I am sure someone will be along shortly with what happens.

Good Luck and I wish you all the best.

When i interviewed for sainsburys it was just a general chat to get to know you a bit and then set questions on what you would do in this situation and why.
think theyve changed it a bit as in the last week two of my housemates and my brother have had interviews all at different stores and they were all made to watch a video and say what was wrong that was happing and answer basic maths questions such as if a customer comes to your till with 13 apples, decides she doesnt want 5, how many apples will she have so its really simple.
If your applying for a cts/team leader job you also have to do a role play.
    hope that helps.

OK. Seeing as the question has changed, here is another reply

I know (for a fact - as they call me nearly once a week), Argos, WHSmiths, Debenhams still have Xmas Temp positions.

Yes. I work at Sainsburys, (have done for almost two months). I am contracted as a Checkout Assistant. But I have recently (today), been offered a job as a CTS. A CTS = Convenience Team Leader/Supervisor.

Yes. Before I got my job at Sainsburys, I applied at a few stores (including them). Once I got the job, I didn't close any pending applications, I left them as they were (thinking if I didn't like Sainsburys - I could move). It would seem that Debenhams, Argos, WHSmiths want me to work there - and leave me a voicemail message nearly once a week, asking me to get in touch with them.

You have to be 18 as a CTS being under age is useless

    LOL.

That is exactly what I thought too. But you don't need to be 18 to be a CTS. But it is uncommon for someone under 18 to be one.

There is much more to a CTS, then alcohol calls. Trust me.

In fact, it is not. We have a 17 year old CTS too. Who is absolutely ace at his job. He does more supervisor calls (running, schedules), than the alcohol calls.

I can see your point, as in, there would be no point to a under-18 CTS. But there are other jobs within that role, that an under-18 can do.
