How much revision should I do for year 10?

Hi, I just wondered how many hours of revision I should do. My school ends at 4pm and I get home by 5/6pm so I have around 5/4 hours of potential revision time. Obviously I’d say at least an hour is taken up by eating and socialising with family. Other than that, I’m completely free, so technically I have 4/3 hours of potential revision time. I was thinking of doing 2 hours per night, in 25 minute chunks with 5 minute breaks, so I’d get through 4 subjects each night. Please let me know if this is too much or too little (for reference I want to go into Optometry/Biology), thanks 🙏🏻
If you're in Y10, you don't need to be worrying too much about revision yet. Keeping on top of topics you've done already so you have less revision to do in Y11 is useful, but other than that, unless you have a specific test or mock exam coming up, you shouldn't stress too much about it. Maybe spend some time each day making flashcards on stuff you did that day in school so you have them ready for Y11?

Do you feel like its too much? if you don't feel like it then i would say to stick to the schedule you have. Different students study for different hours. In my opinion, i don't think 25 mins for each subject is enough when you are in grade 10 . If i were you i will give each subject 1h30min or a hour and study 2 subjects each night maximum 3. But if you really know the topics then you can do a revision of 25 mins. And cover 4 subjects in a night.
Good luck for your exams, you will do well. and dont stress too much about it just believe in yourself.

Heya!
It's a bit early to do 3/4hrs of revision each day after school. Possibly spend around 1hr on each subject and do 2 subjects a day after school :h: It's important not to overwork yourself and have a break after school too. You could also spend a bit of time pre-reading the material and making notes so that you can get more out of the lessons the next day!

I hope this helps!

Year ten? Do your homework, stay on top of what you're learning in school. That's it. It's no wonder students are having mental health issues if they try to self-impose the sort of intensive revision timetables on themselves for years at a time which are much more suited to the last couple of months before important exams.

If you're thinking "but what will I do in all that time except watch TV and play games?" take up a hobby, learn a skill, get fit...

more revision in y10 means less in y11 so I think u do the most u Can and make sure u understand Cleary what u are doing/reading.
I wondent do any revision in year 10 until you get to you mooks latter in the year. Then start 2-3 weeks before your first exam. you should otherwise wait till the summer.
