The teachers advise you on what tier to sit based on your progress throughout the year. However, it is ultimately your decision. I had a friend who was failing biology and she wanted to sit the higher paper, she informed her biology teacher of this and she got to sit the higher paper

Some schools make the top sets do higher tier and bottom sets do foundation.

Yeah, that's what happened when I did my GCSEs. Those in lower sets didn't have the option to do higher tier- and the teachers were usually quite adamant about this

I did so bad last year because I had mental health issues ...But this year I'm revising alot so I think I can do higher but my teacher is so strict I feel scared to talk to him...

We didn't have maths teacher last year at all and they moved me down for no reason and kept the people in higher class even when they failed so my school is bad and teachers don't really listen to me / my parents

I mean if the teachers aren't listening to your parents they should schedule a meeting with the head of the maths department or the head of your year or head teacher this is your future do whatever you can to get the best outcome for you, no matter how scary it is, know this time next year you have to live with your decisions not them, its your life don't let them restrict you, don't be scared, muster up the courage and do what you can.

i mean for GCSE level id say that's pretty good. Did you do any maths papers/ questions actually: https://www.aectutors.co.uk/all-past-papers/maths-gcse-past-papers-old-spec/maths-gcse-edexcel-9-1-sets-1-7 (Its for edexcel and i couldnt find a aqa version sorry if your doing that) this helped me a lot cause there is so gosh darn much of it. id say just keep doing your best, do well in tests, and consistently pester your teachers. Unfortunately situations like these require assertiveness, which is made harder by poor mental health, but keep trooping on it'll be worth it.

Actually now I’m in year 11 (6 days later will be start)
But idk if I can move up during the year 11 to higher for maths and science
Because I came to uk 4 months ago from another country and English is my second language so I didn’t have a enough time
Idk what should I do
